SPECIAL REPORT: Vaping comes under scrutiny in Marshfield … – Wicked Local Marshfield

The use of vapes amongst underage students has become an increased concern in Massachusetts communities, including Marshfield and Pembroke, and steps have been taken to ensure the regulation and education of these products in recent months.

E-cigarettes, commonly known as vapes, are electronic devices that use battery induced heat to produce aerosol vapor to be inhaled.

Marshfield High School has taken steps to crack down on students vaping on school grounds as its rates of students smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes have gone down drastically in recent years.

Marshfield High School Principal Robert Keuther has said that it has become a daily occurance to confiscate these products from his students.

“We don’t see one grade using these devices more than the others, the problem has been across the board and we take these matters very seriously,” said Kuether.
