Port Hueneme police chief to discuss cannabis dispensaries at Ventura midtown council – VC Star

Port Hueneme Police Chief Andrew Salinas will discuss retail cannabis dispensaries at an online Midtown Ventura Community Council meeting on Thursday.

Joining Salinas will be Ventura Police Cmdr. Darrick Brunk; dispensary applicant Megan’s Organic; and local youth advocacy organization Building Resilience and Inclusion Through Engagement or BRITE.

The virtual meeting, which begins at 7 p.m., also features Arlene Martinez, a former Star reporter and communications director for Good Jobs First. The organization is a national policy resource center promoting corporate and government accountability in economic development, according to its website.

Mary Joyce Ivers, Ventura deputy public works director, will also discuss the city’s new safe sidewalks repair reimbursement program. The program helps residents pay for repairs they want done ahead of the city’s schedule.
