Medical marijuana dispensary preparing to open in downtown Uniontown – Uniontown Herald Standard

In just a few minutes, several dozen motorists passing by on West Main Street Monday peered in with looks of wonder.

They were eyeballing the front entrance of a state-licensed medical marijuana dispensary slated to open in downtown Uniontown before the end of August, as a general contractor works to ready the interior by then.

Maitri Medicinals is preparing to open its doors at the site of the former outdoors retail store Woodlands World.

Founded in 2016 by Chief Executive Officer Corinne Ogrodnik and Chief Operating Officer Joseph Vesely, Maitri Medicinals was one of five southwestern Pennsylvania applicants among 27 across the state chosen by the Department of Health in June 2017 to operate a medical cannabis dispensary.

“We’re moving at a pretty good clip,” Vesely said of progress toward opening made so far at the site.
