Boonsboro could be home to new medical cannabis dispensary – Herald-Mail Media

BOONSBORO — Kind Therapeutics wants to open a medical cannabis dispensary in Boonsboro, and will detail its plans Tuesday during a public hearing before the town’s zoning appeals board.

The company has a growing operation in Hagerstown, and wants to open the dispensary inside the complex at 7700 Old National Pike on the town’s northwest side, according to town Planner Reiley Stanley.

Stanley said the company wanted to get the plan before the board because its license to open the dispensary would expire soon, and Kind would need to find another location if the request is denied. Kind Therapeutics is seeking a special exception to the town’s zoning ordinance to open the dispensary.

Washington County currently has a cannabis dispensary on Wesel Boulevard in Hagerstown.

The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at Boonsboro’s Town Hall.
