Employees at two vape shops in the Town of Tonawanda have been cited for selling nicotine products to minors, police said Monday.

Town of Tonawanda police conducted an underage sting on Thursday of the four shops that sell e-cigarettes in the town, according to the department.

Cody Botelho, 20, of Chain Vapors, 894 Brighton Road, and Timothy Reynolds, 27, of Yeti Vape, 2327 Sheridan Drive, were issued appearance tickets for violations of state public health law, police said.

If convicted, first-time offenders may face fines from $300 to $1,000. Licenses may be suspended or revoked after multiple convictions, according to police.

Botelho and Reynolds are due in Tonawanda Town Court on March 6.
